About the work
From Katsushika Hokusai’s celebrated series Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji, published in the early 1830s, this colour woodblock print shows the mountain reflected in the clear water of Lake Misaka in Kai Province, with a village tucked into the wooded shore and a single small boat on the lake.
Printed on 200 gsm museum-quality matte paper from the museum’s high-resolution open-access image, with a white border so nothing of the original is cropped. Available from A4 up to 70 × 100 cm, or as a digital download to print yourself.
