About the work
Flower still lifes like this one, of about 1905, dominated the last fifteen years of Odilon Redon’s career and brought him his greatest commercial success. His love of plants began in his youth near Bordeaux, where at twenty he met the botanist and draughtsman Armand Clavaud, whose meticulous drawings helped instil his wish to paint “nature, as seen in a dream.”
Printed on 200 gsm museum-quality matte paper from the museum’s high-resolution open-access image, with a white border so nothing of the original is cropped. Available from A4 up to 70 × 100 cm, or as a digital download to print yourself.
